top for my skirt

I looked around for a nice top for my skirt, a top that would not dominate the skirt. A simple one. And guess what - I found it on Geilsk - again! It was called "Running". So yesterday I was at a party and could use my skirt and top!

Again the designer had made a pattern that was easy - but still fun and different to knit. I like the way the top is shaped by simply planning for and letting dedicated stiches drop down. A Neat technique.

Skirt - Geilsk Underslyngel.

I have visited the web page of Geilsk several time, and looked at the beautiful skirt.

Finally I decided to order wool, a pattern and get started. So I have been knitting my skirt in Geilsk Thin wool. The pattern and way of doing it was really easy. And the thin yarn makes it so soft and gives a nice texture. I really love it. When the skirt was done, I was looking forward to wear it....but I didi not have any item in my wardrobe to match the colour in any way. Well, I had to shop :-9
By knitting this skirt I also learned a new technique for making the waistband. It took some time, but I did not have to sew anything! I like it!

More socks

I had some nice thin sock yarn, multi coloured laying in my pile of unused, nice, cool yarn. So after having knitted the "Geilsk Livstykkesokker" to others, I knitted a pair to myself - even though I really have several thin woolen sock by now :-)

I must admit - these are my favourite. Just perfect fit!

Moebius knitted scarf

I had this great yarn from Denmark, yellow, orange and red, and approximately 140 grams. To bad to use it on socks...probably not ideal for a hat....but a Mobius scarf.

So then I tried to make one, but became uncertain whether it would be long enough. So I started again , this time with plenty more stitches. It is long enough, actually a bit long I think. Three time around the neck. But it works nice with my coat, and 100% wool keeps me warm in the cold, cold Norwegian winter.

Finally done - my sleeveless jacket now only needs some buttons

This is the nightmare project. I started it a year ago when we lived in Lagos, Nigeria. The plan was to have something nice and warm for when I returned to cold Norway. It went well, until I startet with the sleeves.

No matter how I made them, it just would nor fit! It looked bulky, it looked wrong. I tried and retried, but there were no nice fix.

So my solution was, yesterday, to give up the sleeves and make it sleeveless.

So this is my sleeveless version of Drops design number 107-1, made with Bris yarn from Gjesdal.

As you can see, I used a lot of purple shaded yarn, and added on some blue-green-ish shaded to brighten it up a bit. I was happy with that result. Now I need 6 big buttons tha matches the purple colours. And knitting Mosaic knitting does not leave a lot of loose ends to fasten afterwards.

My new hat

I have lost my favourite hat! I must have forgotten it on the plane one day. To bad. Well I ended up knitting a new one. This time in 100% Merino wool, knitting needle 3 mm. Purple.

My kitten gloves

My red knitted gloves were getting worn, so I made myself some nice warm kitten gloves. The pattern was made based on a recipe for kitten socks made by Jorid Linvik.

Something warm while travelling

I am travelling a bit back and forth between Nigeria and Norway, and when I am in Norway I am not necessary in my hometown and my home. So a couple of times I have been so cold, particular on the feets. So last time I was in Trondheim I bought a ready-to-knit set at the airport and knitted me slippers that travel easy.
Warm, woollen slippers that do not take up a lot of space in the suitcase. And they fit relatively well on the feet, so I am happy.
