Big sister blouse

My darling granddaughter is going to become a big sister soon. I have been knitting to "little brother" and Then this special blouse...only for big sisters.

Danish design, thin alpakka and linnen.

I added a button With a ladybug button.
Ladybugs are almost as cool as Hello Kitty.

Picking the little one up at hospital?

I have made a set for the little one. I bought three skeins of Filcolana Indicita Petrol from "God som ull".  That was plenty for the project of knitting the retro jacket from the book "Strikk til smårollinger" So I added a pair of retro pants. Still plenty of yarn.

I have always liked Lene Holme Samsø's little babyhar, and now I had the chance to knit that one. "Strikk til baby på pinne nummer 3"

And then a pair of socks.

A Knitting machine!!!!!!!!

I have a good friend who have lived in Canada for a time. She has helped me procuring a toy for us knitters. A knitting machine. I will still do most knitting by hand, but still- I really would like to explore "THE KNITTING MACHINE". Silverreed LK150.

I am not specifically patient.
Luckily I am rather technical.

So- I made this child sweather in Drops Alpakka while exploring the machine.

How to make a nice start and prevent the stockinet to curl?
How to change yarn?
How to descrease?
How to increase?
How to pick up dropped stitches?
How to transfer stitches to knitting needles?

 

 

So far: learning: Difficult to find nice recipes?
Forget about knitting in the round- think back, front, sleeves, sew together.

Now- I need to find out what size of kid that fits the sweather.

Socks for my daughters

Sandnes has this nice warm alpacca wool strengthened so it is feasable for socks. The pattern is from Drops Design Christmas Calendar.

So three almost identical pair of these.

"tubeskjerf" Moebius

I have knitted a red scarf for Sofie in Alpacca and mohair- nice and warm in the winter. And an identical to me in purple. It was a quick project - but I was not used to knit with such thick knitting needles. But you soon get used to it.

Alpacca jacket

I spent my knitting time this summer on knitting an alpacca jacket I found on "Drops". In September, when I was finally done and attached to to sleeves to the fornta and the back and tried it on - it was to wide! The jacket I had put so much effort into was not for me. My mother was visisting at the time, and tried it on - no she has a nice warm alpacca jacket that fits her. I guess I have to do another in a smaller size.
