My folklore jacket from Christel Seyfarth

is in slow progress, but the project is progressing. It is just a bit too demanding to knit on while watching TV.... or chatting with people, and I am not much alone.

I like the colours, I like the feeling of the nice warm, wool. And, I am looking forward to finnish the project at some time. In the mean time - other projects are being worked on :-)

And an Easterbunny for Marte - with a broken neck off course

Just before easter Marte had a bad bicycle accident. She is wearing a collar to support her neck after fractures. So when Sofie got a bunny, I knitted one for Marte. With a neck collar and jacket.

Easterbunny

I have knitted an easterbunny for Sofie. Arne 6Carlos has made a nice little book with a good way of creating the Easter bunny. First you knit one little foot, stuff it with wool, continue to knit the leg - stuff it. Repeat the process for foot number 2. You knit the back-tummy part until ti armpits. Then knit a hand - which you stuff. Knit the rest of the long arm. Repeat. Knit together with the "torso" - stuff- knit the neck and head. Stuff. Knit and crotchet the ears.

All done - very little work finnishing it - almost no sewing.

Knit a little sweather - and it is good to go as a present.

A little Valentine friendly Headband for Sofie

I used some really soft merino wool leftover yarn for this mini project. It is inspired by the cable-braided-necklace from this blog. I knitted the two strips, but added a piece of elastic band and made a headband for her. Red, almost heart shaped...perfect for Valentines day.

top for my skirt

I looked around for a nice top for my skirt, a top that would not dominate the skirt. A simple one. And guess what - I found it on Geilsk - again! It was called "Running". So yesterday I was at a party and could use my skirt and top!

Again the designer had made a pattern that was easy - but still fun and different to knit. I like the way the top is shaped by simply planning for and letting dedicated stiches drop down. A Neat technique.

Skirt - Geilsk Underslyngel.

I have visited the web page of Geilsk several time, and looked at the beautiful skirt.

Finally I decided to order wool, a pattern and get started. So I have been knitting my skirt in Geilsk Thin wool. The pattern and way of doing it was really easy. And the thin yarn makes it so soft and gives a nice texture. I really love it. When the skirt was done, I was looking forward to wear it....but I didi not have any item in my wardrobe to match the colour in any way. Well, I had to shop :-9

By knitting this skirt I also learned a new technique for making the waistband. It took some time, but I did not have to sew anything! I like it!

Wrist warmers

There were some leftover yarn from the socks.

So to avoid my yarn stock to grow out of control, I decided to be quick and really use the rest of it for something Sofie-friendly. Something she could use in spring.

Sofie is often riding her bike to school, so I made her some extra long wrist-warmers. And she is already using them. The Stavanger climate does not distinguish to much between winter, spring or summer. It is normally a few degrees plus, rain and wind :-)
