Angry bird hat for Yr

It is summer temperatures here now, and we have had one week of 20+ degrees :-)

This means that woolen hats are to warm to wear in preschool and kindergarten. But even if it is summer, we know that temperatures will drop to 12 degrees and some days we will have strong winds. So a summerhat for the little ones are a nice thing to have.

First I knitted a traditional little Helmet kind of hat.

But it was oh so boring.

 So I was wondering to turn it into an owl hat, and made a beak. Made some eyes.
But it still was not to my liking.

I added eyebrows. So now it is a kind of Angry Bird hat.

I hope it fits the young lady's head and that she likes it.

Baby blouse for a summer baby

Last time I was in London i bought two skeins of Debbie Bliss Wool/cotton mix.
One of my young relatives is expecting a baby this summer, so I decided to create a summer blouse/alternative west for the little one.

 

The picture are lying when it comes to the colour, it is not pink, it is red. But that doesn't really matter, because it turned out to not be gender neutral as planned, it became feminine as I worked on the finnishing details.

 

Back and front knitted on knitting machine- tuck stitch.

Side sewn together,

Neck opening knitted on hand, same with arm openings and bottom.

 

wrist warmers - another left-over yarn project

I had one ball of soft yarn left over from knitting a hat. I decided to experiment a bit with tuck stitches. And I made a pair of wristwarmers, knitting the thumb part on by hand afterwards. The hard part was to decide which side was reverse....

Hat with bubbles

 It seems like they have all gone "bubbly" - There are bubbles on hats, sweathers and blankets. After a while it becomes contagious. I just had to make a bubble-hat. Debbie Bliss Rialto DK. Supersoft and 100% wool.
Christmas gift for someone- so no name mentioned.
