A small scarf

I need some small projects while travelling. Easy travelling knitting that do not take up to much space in the bag, or while working on them. I had noticed Geilsk Bølgelengde, and blue would be a nice colour.
Looking at the number of stitches (179) I figured out that I would like to add length, and added the extra 12 stitches.  Easy pattern, nice warm woolen yarn, (Geilk Tynn ull)- and I have actually used it.

Pants and socks, as well as fixing the shirt

I had some "curling" issues with the T-shirt. I startet over again, this time with a number of thinner knitting needles, and rib knitting. No more curling-upwards. All I need is small brown buttons in the right brown colour.
Thin wool is nice even in the summer. May be- specifically in the Norwegian summer. So I made a simply straight up and down pair for the size 0-3 months. All I need is elastic band for the waist.

Socks for the coming little boy- to match the rest of the outfit. I chose to knit it in rib, so there is a chance that the socks will stay on to busy baby feet.

T-shirt for a very small man

My Nephew is expecting a son - this summer.
I wanted to knit a sweater for the baby- but the lower part curled in a not so nice way.

Theories: Try again with thinner knitting needles and knit the blue edge again
Knit the blue edge again with same needles as the rest- decrease number of stitches a bit
or
Try again and make the edge a few rows longer

The Brown parts are knitted on a knitting machine. Back, front, two sleeves. Sewn together.

Then the blue edges are added and knitted by hand.

When the curly issue is fixed- small brown buttons will be added

Baby blouse for a summer baby

Last time I was in London i bought two skeins of Debbie Bliss Wool/cotton mix.
One of my young relatives is expecting a baby this summer, so I decided to create a summer blouse/alternative west for the little one.

The picture are lying when it comes to the colour, it is not pink, it is red. But that doesn't really matter, because it turned out to not be gender neutral as planned, it became feminine as I worked on the finnishing details.

Back and front knitted on knitting machine- tuck stitch.
Side sewn together,
Neck opening knitted on hand, same with arm openings and bottom.

Dreambird

I found a great pattern at Ravelry - called Dreambird
I choose to knit it in Drops Lace yarn (Alpacca and silk) combined with Viking Nordlys.
It was a fun pattern to knit, and Nordlys gave colours I liked.

Now the big question is: how and when to wear it :-)

Sweater for Rigmor

Rigmor needed a warm woolen sweater, for the cold days. I let her look through a few of my knitting books, and in "Mange masker" by several Danish knit designers, she found a sweather she liked. Sys Fredens "bluse med sjalskrave".
Recipe suggested "Donegal fra Lang Yarn" on needle number 4.
We combined two of Geilsk yarns, thin wool and tweed, and used them for the pattern. And Rigmor found the exact colours she liked. Which neither my cell phone or Camera are able to do justice :-)

The advantage was - Easy knitting, back and forth, and nice neck solution.

The disadvantage: sewing. Shoulders, neck, arms, sides.
And in addition: I messed up!
Big time.

First I sewed the shoulders. Everything ok. Then adden one sleve, and sewed from wrist to side.
Sterted to watch a documentary with Snowden- a really good interview- and I sewed the other arm and side from reverse. Had to use the needle to remove stitches and do it all over again.

Sweater for Yr

After the cranky pants, I wanted to knit a sweater for the little darling. I used red Silja Yarn from Sparkjøp. This time i knitted the front, the back and the arms as seperate parts on the knitting machine- until chest-high. Then I joined them all on a circular needle and knittet back and forth across all four parts, decresing every 7th stitch after 10 rows, then dereasing every 6th stich etc- until every second stitch.

At the same time I splitt the front in 2, having 10 stitches passed the middle on the needle, picking up stiches underneath to make an easy pull on and off opening.

After having knitted the top, I was going to sew it together from wrist to armpit and down the side- I noticed that the little girl had grown, and that the sweather was long enough, but would be very "slim", so I picked up stitches all the way, and knitted rib back and fort and joined together with the stiches as I went along.

The result was ok.
